Subject: Family of Eagles expelled from coin show. From: [Deleted] Date: 1997/07/08 Message-Id: [Deleted] Organization: [Deleted] Newsgroups: rec.collecting.coins X-Admin: [Deleted] It has been reported that FOE was asked to leave a coin show in Florida over the weekend. They were trying to sell their 1/10 oz coins for $70 (worth about $40 or less) but had neglected to obtain a Florida State Sales tax permit. Appears as tho' they may have some wonderful scheme to reduce the national debt all right, but it looks like it involves fleecing the state out of its sales tax money...hmmm. I suspect another state attorney general may be looking into their operations very soon...maybe eventually this scam will be shut down. Sure feel sorry for those that continue to be victimized, tho'. I wonder if any of their successful "salespersons" will be named in the upcoming lawsuits or if FOE will "protect" their people or let them go down with the ship. I would imagine that Florida is probably pretty fertile hunting ground for the "Gullibleus Deepocketus" and "Trustingus Oldfolkus" that these types of rip-offs prey upon. [Identity deleted]
