Comments about Henrique Ferreira
My name is Mr. X from the Philippines and recently I tried to trade banknotes from the Philippines and Vietnam with a certain MR. HENRIQUE FERREIRA from Sao Paolo, Brazil. In my emails prior to the trade I repeatedly said that I will trade 6 notes (crisp and new) for 6 notes from Brazil. I received 6 tattered notes from him, 4 with tears and staple holes; 1 has pen markings, and the other one was in fair condition. In short he sent me "trash". It may be bad judgement on my part not mentioning that I wanted fine to AU quality notes in exchange but I think that it is in bad faith that he willingly sent me trash. I mean if you are from Brazil and you are exchanging brazilian notes, will it really kill you to find better quality notes? His email address is henrique.ferreira@usa.net. I do not want my notes back from him. I just want to post his name in the bad traders list as a warning to future traders. And to think that this is the first time that I tried to trade with people from the internet. His name appears in several other pages like Ingrid's Coin Traders List and MJP Coin Traders List. Thank you very much.
Editor's Comment: Apparently, the victim didn't say he wanted F to AU quality notes, so this is probably a stray case of misunderstanding between the two traders. See next comment.
For those of you that don't know, I am the Ms. Y of Ms. Y's Coin Traders Page. I received basically the same report from Mr. X. It disturbed me a great deal, since I don't want anyone to get ripped off by using my page.
However, before I would report anything bad about anyone, or even take them off my page, I did some investigating. I contacted Henrique, and believe it or not, he has a different idea about what happened. Funny
how that's often how it works if you take the time to ask.
I also contacted 3 people who have traded coins with him. They all told me that they didn't have any trouble at all. I posted to my web page for about a week that I was looking for other people who have traded with him or Mr X to contact me. Nobody did. I also mention on my web page that I would like to hear from people who have trouble in any trade, so I can investigate, and _then,_and_only_then, take action if needed. So, obviously he's not preying on the collecting community.
Henrique has offered to return the notes. He says that he mentioned in advance that they were not in good condition. I have looked at his web page, where he has scans of Brazilian paper money, and none of the notes he has scanned are in very good condition. Not being from Brazil myself, I assume this is because good quality notes are not available. Doesn't this seem like the most obvious conclusion?
